Money plants can be found in the Plant section of our catalog under the categories of:
There are many shapes and sizes of Money Plants. We try to make it easy for you to find what you are looking for. Choose from our brand names as well as the many suppliers we have listed. All of the plants we carry are priced at or near wholesale prices.
It is important that you buy only from a trusted supplier. There are many unscrupulous suppliers who ship phytoplankton to our customers. Phytoplankton is not a money plant and is harmful to both people and plants.
To thrive, your money plant should be well hydrated with RO water. It is important to remember that your water meter is not calibrated to show you how much water you are putting into the house. You can do a water meter calibration at your local Walmart store for $3.95.
You can also buy a water test kit from an aquarium store. We carry both aquarium and tank supplies as well as other items for your home and garden.
Money plants need to be provided with a balanced, nutrient-rich, acidic/basic solution every other month. Some species need more frequent watering than others. We offer products that will do the job for a nominal cost.
Money plants are very forgiving. Even if they are a bit sparse at the time of purchase, they will begin to grow very quickly. In our opinion, when plants are purchased young they make the best indoor plants. When purchased in a mature form, they may not take well to indoor growing. Most of our plants start to grow quickly within 7 to 10 days after purchase.
Money plants are not completely hardy to most indoor conditions. Please read the plant care instructions for more information.
Watering and Pruning
Each Money Plant will have specific watering and pruning requirements. Some species do not like to be pruned so it is best to use leaves instead of a cut. If you must prune a money plant, make sure you trim the branches down to at least a foot from the pot so they will not sprawl.
There are products on the market that will improve the leaf appearance and reduce the watering needs of your plant. We do not carry these products so please make your own judgment call.
Your Money Plant Needs to be Properly Positioned
For best growth and health, your money plant should be as close to the west window as possible. If it is to be near a north window, it needs to be in direct sunlight or have grow lights on it.
The greatest misconception people have about Money Plants is that they need to be in the sun all day and night. Money plants will do fine in a warm room with some direct sunlight if you need your room to be a little cooler.
Money Plants for Sale
You may have seen a money plant for sale at your local home improvement store. They are usually sold for $6.00 to $7.00.Do you need to pay a Home Depot $10.00 for a plant that you can get for $1.00 to $2.00 at Walmart, your local garden center or better yet, you can get your own for $5.00 at your local Walmart? Your money plant should be more than just a pretty house plant. It is a living treasure and if properly cared for and positioned will reward you for years to come.

Plant Care Advice
A money plant is one of the easiest indoor plants to grow, even in a small room. Money plants need bright, indirect light that does not get too hot in the middle of the day. In fact, the cool temperatures are their best feature. They are fast growers that are easy to pot up from a seedling.
Buy your Money Plant at a Price that is Within Your Reach
You do not need to break the bank to buy a money plant. Prices have come down and you can find great plants at local retailers, garden centers, local seedling nurseries, plant catalogs, and nurseries. Check your local home improvement stores for the best deals. You can also check local Walmart stores. Some have huge selections of plants at affordable prices.
In many cases, you can purchase your plants for around $3.00 to $4.00. Not all prices are equal. The lower priced plants will start to outgrow their pots more quickly. Check with the retailer before purchasing to make sure you are purchasing a healthy, properly hydrated plant.
Money Plants are Soft Pressed Ceramic Plants
These are ceramic, non-fiber-content plants. They are heat tolerant, have a long lifespan, and are very low maintenance. If they get too much light, they will burn. This is an advantage because the plant needs only indirect light and will grow well with even a low light condition. They are very easy to pot
